Like in any match-three game, special pieces are very useful in beating a level. Each special piece requires a certain shape or number of pieces to be matched.

Drill Require matching 4 pieces in a line. Drills will clear pieces at a straight line, either horizontally or vertically depending on the direction they are facing. You can either move them or double tap it to detonate.
Bombs Require matching 3×3 (T-shape or L-shape formations). Bombs will blow up and clear pieces surrounding it. Similar to the drill, you can either move them or double tap it to detonate.
Missiles Require matching 4 pieces in a square. Missiles will clear all adjacent pieces and the fly to the piece that you are required to clear the level and match it. Activate them to clear those hard to reach pieces.
Battery Require matching 5 pieces in a line. The battery will clear pieces corresponding to the same type of piece.

You can also match 2 special pieces together which the effect will be much stronger. For example, matching a drill and bomb together will clear 3 lines in a straight line instead of 1.
